About the Role:
We are searching for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Aquatics team. Reporting to the Aquatics Supervisor, the Aquatics Fitness Instructor is responsible for implementation and service delivery of group Aquatic Fitness Classes at the Aquatic and Wellness Centre. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Administers and instructs group fitness classes for varying age groups / demographics. Potential classes may include but are not limited to: Aquafit, Aqua Cycle, Gentle Fit, Aqua Finning, Aqua HITT, Deep Water Running, Aqua Stretch
  • Develops group fitness class plans that align with the program description and offer modifications for a range of participants.  
  • Provides customer service, responding to general inquiries regarding fitness / training programming
  • Creates a welcoming, friendly and inclusive environment for patrons during classes and in training sessions.
  • Use recreation software (as applicable) to access class lists, manage training bookings and schedules, and access patron information.
  • Maintain awareness of best practices, trends and innovations in group fitness classes, personal training and conditioning. 
  • Assists with ensuring patrons are aware of safety guidelines
  • Assists patrons by providing modifications during class instruction or training for patrons 
  •  Provides minor first-aid as required 
Education/Specialized Training/Skills:
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • One (1) year demonstrated experience in group fitness instruction, fitness programming and/or fitness training experience
  • A satisfactory Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

Wage: $29.47 to $33.49 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
