Ability to read cemetery maps and records for the purpose of locating cemetery lots.
- Safely and efficiently complete projects, tasks, as assigned by the Operations Manager, Public Works Manager, and Public Works Supervisor.
- Perform grave openings, closing and restoration, and assist in layout burial sites.
- Maintain the turf at the cemetery (35 acres).
- Safely operate a variety of equipment to assist in the maintenance of the cemeteries. i.e., Compact backhoe, zero-turn lawnmowers, gas powered trimmers etc.
- Assist with interments.
- Act as flag person for various construction projects.
- Report damage claims to the Management team.
- Rotate on an on-call schedule for off hour coverage if required.
- Placing of hot and cold asphalt patching along the roadways in potholes/ road cuts etc.
- Repair and replacement of traffic signs, road signs and guardrails.
- Preventative maintenance of equipment; washing, cleaning of vehicles and equipment.
- Perform snow removal operations safely and competently on Town sidewalks, lots, and premises with side-walk snow clearing equipment and pick-up truck/blade.
- All other duties as assigned by the Managers of Public Works & Operations
- Minimum grade 12 education or GED
- Valid G Class Driver's License
- Valid DZ class Driver's License or the ability to obtain

A minimum of one year of relevant work experience
- Ability to work shift work and alternative hours during winter control, emergencies, and weekend burials.
- Physical ability to perform duties associated with job responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of cemetery construction, and maintenance techniques, including grounds and water systems.
- Ability to use pickup truck, zero turn lawnmower, compact backhoe, gas powered equipment, one ton truck with a standard transmission.
